information from relatives: Karl P. war Gewerkschaftssekretär für den Landarbeiterverband, Kreis Oldenburg i.H., vor 1933 war er Stadtrat in Oldenburg i.H., nach dem Machtantritt der Nationalsozialisten konnte er nicht mehr als Gewerkschafter arbeiten, er betrieb dann einen Kaufmannsladen (Zigarren und Tabak) im eigenen Haus (Oldenburg, Göhlerstr. 32) zum Unterhaltserwerb, später Angestellter bei der Krankenkasse in Oldenburg, nach dem Attentat auf Hitler (20.07.1944) wurde er verhaftet und im KZ Neuengamme inhaftiert, durch Intervention seiner Frau bei hochrangigen NS-Funktionären kam er frei; nach Kriegsende wurde er von der britischen Besatzungsmacht kommissarisch als Landrat eingesetzt, er war später noch einige Jahre Kreispräsident des Kreises Oldenburg; nach dem Tod seiner Frau im Jahr 1963 lebte er bei seiner Tochter in Beuel/Rhein.

County president of Oldenburg, Member of the federal state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein (1946-1950, 1954-1958) and
Vice president of the federal state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein (1946-1950), member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD).
According to a report of relatives Karl was a union secretary for the agricultural worker federation in the county Oldenburg i.H., before 1933 he was an town councilor in Oldenburg i.H., after the "Nazi Revolution" of the National Socialists (NSDAP) under Hitler in 1933 he was prevented from working due to being a trade unionist, during these years he operated a buyer shop (cigars and tobacco) in his own house. Later he was an employee in a health insurance company in Oldenburg. After the assassination attempt on Hitler (20.07.1944) he was arrested and detained in the concentration camp (KZ) Neuengamme. Only by the intervention of his wife to high-ranking local NSDAP functionaries he was released.
After the end of the war (May 1945) he became a commissarial county president by appointment of the British occupying forces.
After the death of his wife in 1963 he lived in his daughter´s house in Beuel /Rhine.

war mit ihrem jüdischen Lebenspartner
bereits nach Chile ausgewandert. Durch den Kriegsbeginn am 01.09.1939 wurde das
Auslaufen des Schiffes verhindert.
Hermann und Bertha P. gingen nach 1945 nach Chile. Seine Frau starb in Chile.
