Processed thru Ellis Island. "Mathew" arrived Jul 30 1895, shipAurania (manifest states "steerage passenger, embarked Queenstown"). 42 yo sailor. Traveled with Joseph, 38 yo"countryman".
Note: Note: Arrived at Ellis Island on ship "California" in 1900 at age 46.Manifest states he had been in the US before in 1896 and 1900(?). He was bound for his brother-in-law Pietro Musimeci in Brooklyn NY. Ship left Naples Italy on May 5, 1900; arrived NY May 25, 1900.

1900 NY/Kings/Bklyn Ward 6/Dist 67: Matteo "Latorcetta",boarder (with Paulo Lagna), b. Jan 1862, 38 yo, married, occup:sailor, listed as immigrated in 1900 and unemployed for 6 months. Also lists Phillipi Santoro, single, 32 yo.

There is a Matteo LaDolcetta, 49/married male, occup: porter,arriving on SS Lombardia 18 Dec 1902; bound for brother-in-lawPaulo Lagana on Charles St in Brooklyn. Last residence Villa SGiovanni. (On the 1900 census, there is a Matteo "Latorcetta"boarding with Paulo Lagna.) He is listed also on a "Record ofAliens Held for Special Inquiry" on this same date/ship. Listsdetained because of "improp manifest, ques #16". (*However, hiswife was Musimeci, not Lagano; the only way Paolo Lagano wouldbe a bro-in-law is if Matteo had a sister who married Paolo.)

There is also a Giuseppe Tedesco, 18/male, bound for cousinPaulo Lagana on Charles St in B'klyn. Last residence also VillaS Giovanni. He is listed on a "Record of Detained AlienPassengers", disposition to "Cousin Paulo Lagana 20 Carroll StBklyn".

Lists Matteo as immigrating in 1906and "alien"; wife and four kids immigrated in 1907. Matteo wascarpenter; Giovanno was tailor; Tony was automobile mechanic.All born in Italy except Vincent and Peter.
